Sir Walter, Australia’s No.1 Buffalo Grass has been sold and grown since 1997, born and bred in Australia, to withstand Australian conditions, it has excellent drought tolerance compared to other Buffalo Lawns.
Sir Walter Soft Leaf Buffalo began in WA in 2002, with the original stock grown from Betta Turf’s nursery in Wattleup. All Sir Walter turf in WA originates from this stock.
In 2003, Greenacres in Serpentine started growing and supplying Sir Walter turf, followed by AG Buffalo in Baldivis in 2005.

Environmental Factors
Sir Walter has proven to be one of the most water and nutrient efficient of the premium lawns. This is due to its tight growth pattern which helps keep moisture in.
It is able to resist many common fungal diseases and pests usually associated with other lawn varieties, leaving you and the environment less exposed to chemicals.

Durability & Wear
Sir Walter is better able to withstand and recover from everyday wear and tear as it has an unusually long growing season with a high density, low thatch characteristic. Sir Walter also has the ability to grow in shaded situations where other varieties such as Kikuyu and Couch would struggle.
Sir Walter is salt tolerant and perfect for coastal areas where salt readings in bore water are unusually high outperforming most other turf varieties in these conditions.
