 Turf Installation

  • Turf is best laid as soon as possible upon delivery. Otherwise keep turf damp or in a shady position.  The longer it is rolled up, the turf will start to heat up and turn yellow.
  • Begin laying turf along the longest straight line.  Butt edges against each other tightly, without stretching, avoiding gaps or overlaps.  Stagger the joints in each row in a brick-like fashion
  • On slopes, avoid walking or kneeling on the turf whilst it is being installed or just after watering.
  • Once installed, roll or compact the entire turfed area, this will remove any unwanted air pockets.
  • Water the newly laid turf and check that the water has seeped through the turf and into the soil below.
  • Check with your supplier for best laying practices.
